Random Acts of Kindness for a Wedding Day

The week of February 13th is Random Acts of Kindness week.

What is a random act of kindness? Per the google machine, a random act of kindness is an unexpected act or helpfulness, typically for a stranger. But we can do acts of kindness all the time for anyone. This week’s blog will provide some ideas for random acts of kindness during a wedding day for you, your significant other, friends, and family.

During a wedding day, I’m always willing to jump in and lend a hand to help the day go smooth. I’ve helped to pin boutonnieres, assisted with a dress bustle, or helping to make sure the happy couple is where they should be at various times of the event. Let’s look at a few ways that anyone can give a random act of kindness during a wedding.

• For the bride from the groom, slip a note to them during the pre-wedding activities. Nothing is sweeter than seeing a bride smile at a small gesture from her soon to be husband. The bride can do the same for the groom by sending along a little love note. This can help ease nerves and give the other something to look forward to as the ceremony approaches.
• For the guests during an outdoor wedding, have a basket of blankets available for keeping warm during the festivities. I have witnessed this and it’s super sweet and guests truly appreciated it
• Donate left over food from the reception. Work with your caterer to provide food to a homeless shelter or local community.
• For the wedding party, especially the bridesmaids, let them pick their own shoes – heels or flats. They will truly appreciate it as they help you during the day and celebrate with you all through the night.
